My name is Wenette Jordaan and I started my karate journey at the age of 8 at Bryan Dukas Sensei’s dojo in Vereeniging.
I successfully completed my Shodan grading in Japan with Hitoshi Kasuya Sensei in 2013 and have experienced some of my best karate career highlights from then on forward. These include winning gold in the u/21 kata division at the World WSKF Karate Championships, obtaining my Senior Protea Karate Colours at the age of 20, as well as winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Championships in 2017. I also represented the South African University Karate team at the World Student Games in 2018.
2020 Has led me to pursue my Master's degree at the University of Pretoria whilst training and competing as a full-time karate athlete and my future prospects include successfully completing my Sandan grading.
